Pubquiz

Hi everybody,

On Tuesday, the 4^th of May, at 7:15 pm a great event will take place – a pub quiz on Discord and Zoom.

What is a pub quiz?

A pub quiz is a certain type of quiz which is played in teams. The teams compete against each other in 12 rounds. There are picture rounds, where you have to answer questions about pictures, music rounds, where you have to guess the title and the interpreter on the basis of short song excerpts, and question rounds, where you have to prove your active knowledge in a variety of areas.

What are the rules?

Each team consist of a maximum of 7 people (if that doesn't work out, please let us know). You receive points for correct answers but don’t lose points if your answers are wrong. The quiz is played over two halves. Each half lasts between one and one and a half hours. If you don’t want to play the entire quiz, you can quit after one half. In the end, the team with the most points wins. The quiz is held bilingual for the first time - in English and German. Everything else will be explained at the beginning.

What do I have to do if I want to participate?

You are expected to have a Discord account and join the pub quiz Discord server.

(This is not the same server used at the Master freshmen pub quiz!)

If you already know who you would like to play in a team with, please send a mail with the following information: Team name, the participants´ and the team captain´s Discord names (email: pubquiz@fsmath.uni-bonn.de).

(Please try to do this until Tuesday at 4 pm.)

You don't have a team yet? No problem at all. I'm sure many people are in the same situation. Please just send an email with your Discord name and be online on Tuesday already at 6:50 pm. New teams will be formed then, or you will be assigned to an existing team.

The invitation link of the Zoom meeting will be published on the Discord server until Tuesday.

What else is important?

Please join the server as early as possible. This makes it much easier to prepare the server before the quiz starts and avoid delays in the process.

Please be online on Discord on Tuesday not only from 7:15 pm, but a little earlier, so that we may solve problems and don't get behind schedule. It will also be explained how we use the Zoom meeting then.
